On a tire plant floor, scrap can look like the end of the line. But for unvulcanized rubber, there’s still value in what’s left behind. These materials are more than manufacturing waste to be hauled away.

Tire Plant Waste Isn’t One-Size-Fits-All
Not all tire plant waste is the same. What comes off one part of the production line may need a completely different solution than the scrap material from another.
Every plant produces different materials, so the solution has to fit the plant. CRP uses processes like steel friction separation to recover uncured rubber from steel wire and handle what can otherwise be difficult to process.
From Production Waste to Production-Grade Material
Recovery is only part of the equation.
Once the material comes to CRP, we figure out the best way to put it to use. Recovered rubber can go on to become high-quality compounds, preforms, or industrial-grade molded rubber products. The goal is to keep as much usable material in circulation as possible and get more from what’s already there.
We’re not recycling rubber simply to say it avoided a landfill. We’re creating high-end, in-demand material manufacturers can actually use.
More Material. Less Waste.
The more usable rubber we can keep in circulation, the more we can get from what’s already been produced. It’s better for manufacturers, but it’s also a more responsible way to think about the resources we have.
We believe good business and environmental responsibility can go hand in hand. When there’s still value in a material, we want to find a way to keep it in use.
Beyond the Scrap Pile
CRP processes more than 120 million pounds of material each year and works with more than half of the tire plants across North America. We’ve seen firsthand how much usable material can be overlooked when the focus is simply on getting waste out the door. That’s why we believe there’s a better question to ask.
Instead of only asking, “How do we get rid of this material?” we also ask, “What can this material become next?”
To us, that’s what it means to look beyond the scrap pile. With the right process, material that might have been discarded can still have a purpose. We don’t just see what’s being thrown away. We see what can be put back to work.
